An integral member of the Sharpe Dental Centre team for over 30 years, Nelia joined the practice in 1988, working as a dental assistant for 12 years before transitioning into dental administration.
Affectionately referred to as Mamma Nellie by her teammates, Nelia takes great pride in the meaningful relationships she has built with her patients and team members over the years. “It is truly an amazing feeling seeing families and watching them grow over the years. I make it a point to remember patients so I can aid in coordinating their dental needs and ensure lasting relationships are built to enhance the overall dental experience,” she said.
In her current role as Practice Manager, Nelia strives to create a comfortable environment that puts patients at ease, while ensuring their individual needs are met and any concerns addressed.
Nelia ultimately believes the key to a practice’s success lies in its commitment to patient-centered care. “Patients are the heart of the practice. When a patient feels they have been heard, respected and their clinical needs have been met, they will continue to return. Ensuring we keep these high standards for our practice ensures we keep our patients pleased, which lets us continue doing what we love each day,” she said.
After three decades at Sharpe Dental, Nelia hopes to retire with her dental family. “I have spent the majority of my life contributing to the practice’s growth and I would consider it an honour to leave my dental career in the place that fueled that passion.”
